What to Expect After a Shamanic Energy Healing Session
You set your intentions, you received the healing, and now you are stepping out of my practice - or closing your laptop if you joined remotely. The session may be complete, but the journey continues. It is completely natural to want some structure and a framework for what comes next, especially if this was your first experience with this type of healing. The following guidance is here to support you as you integrate the shifts and navigate the process ahead 🪄
What now?
One of the most important things to understand is that the real work begins after the session. During the healing, energetic ‘buttons’ are pressed, but your system needs time to process what has been activated.
Think of it as your inner operating system receiving a major reboot and software upgrade. While you continue with your daily life, the healing keeps working quietly in the background. It gradually releases your old energetic imprints while strengthening and developing new and healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. Over time, this naturally influences your thoughts, actions, and ultimately your identity.
The process unfolds differently for everyone. Depending on the depth and complexity of the pattern being worked on, integration can take anywhere from 3 months to 1.5 years.
During this period, you may notice:
Old emotions, memories or behaviours resurfacing.
A sense that certain patterns temporarily become more noticeable before they fade.
New perspectives, desires, or life directions emerging naturally.
Gradual shifts that, at first, may be so subtle you only recognize them when looking back.
Allow your process to unfold at its own pace. Trust it, even if it seems hard at times. Some people move through a relatively gentle integration, while others experience a more intense period of purging and re-learning. Neither is better or worse; it simply reflects what your system is ready to work through. Even when it feels like nothing is happening, your system is often doing deep work beneath the surface.

When should you book another session?
There is no fixed schedule.
I encourage you to listen to your intuition. Your body and inner knowing will usually tell you when you are ready for the next layer of healing or whether you need a 'boost'.
Self-care tips after the session.
Get enough downtime. Much of the integration happens while your body and nervous system are resting.
Drink plenty of water. Water 'flushes out' the stagnant energies, while supporting your body in staying hydrated as it works hard to release the old.
Have an epsom salt bath. Cleanses and purifies you, helping you anchor the new energy.
Spend time in nature. A walk in the forest, a swim in the sea, a SUP-session in the canals, or a stroll in a quiet park will help you feel more grounded.
How to support your process.
You don’t have to do much. In fact, the healing unfolds best (and quickest) the more space you create for it to settle in and recalibrate your system. The following practices support this:
Taking time off and traveling. If possible, it is ideal for integration to step away from your familiar environment. This creates a break from your usual day-to-day, giving the healing more space to settle. Returning home afterward can make it easier to embody a newer version of yourself.
Journaling. Writing down your thoughts, emotions - maybe even your dreams, and insights - reconnects you to yourself. Putting everything on paper clears your mental clutter, which allows for new insights. This in turn helps you recognize patterns, understand how you function, and gain 'aha moments' with regards to your next steps.
Following intuitive nudges. In the period after your session, you may feel drawn to contact certain people, visit specific places, or engage in particular experiences. Follow those inner nudges as they are the steps that will slowly over time transport you to a new reality. I do feel compelled to say: wait before making any major or impulsive decisions. However, I always followed my intuitive callings, and they've consistently led me to a good outcome. But it's important to combine intuition with discernment. Have some kind of a clever strategy in place before jumping the gun.
Read supportive literature. Books have always been my greatest source of support and pleasure throughout the most challenging periods of my healing journey. Particularly the book Letting Go by David Hawkins, as it explains and expands on the process of releasing old energy for transformation and, ultimately, enlightenment.
Whatever you choose to do, remember:
The healing has been set in motion. Old energies are leaving you and making space for what is meant to emerge. Trust the unfolding, follow what feels aligned, and allow yourself to embody the next version of who you are.
